Writing a New Story for Energy in Bristol

Bristol is European Green Capital in 2015: the first UK city to win this title. Bristol’s Energy Community has the opportunity to work together to implement our groundbreaking Community Strategy for Energy, working with commercial partners and the City’s council.

There is already a lot of exciting stuff going on all over Bristol, and now this event will join all the dots and get these fantastic groups and projects to work together and step up to become the UK’s green energy leader. Come and join the journey and conversation leading to cleaner, cheaper, community owned energy in Bristol.

Programme

The morning session will explore how Bristol Energy Network can raise its profile as we enter 2015 - Bristol Green Capital year. The afternoon session will look how Bristol Energy Network can engage with commercial partners working in community energy, including the creation of green jobs. Then a  review of opportunities for community engagement, investment, and local job creation that come from implementing Bristol’s Community Strategy for Energy.

Event sponsor, Bristol Power Co-op, will also talk about its 2014 community share offer.

Evening Party

Join the evening for a party to celebrate Bristol's energy efficiency partnership, with delicious food and drink, live music, and dancing into the night….

Bristol, renewable energy leader

With Bristol City Council’s energy offerings being launched and community groups aligning their ideas, work and strategies, this event will mark Bristol’s coming of age as the UK leading city for renewable energy.
