Warm and Safe Wiltshire
This is a past event, you can no longer book tickets.

As ever, our focus will be on helping people spend less on gas and electricity while making homes warmer and less damp, and reducing cold related illnesses like asthma. We'll particularly be helping people switch energy supplier to find a cheaper tariff and appling for the Warm Home Discount - a £140 electricity-bill rebate.

At two of these events (6th and 15th September) we'll be joined by the award winning chef Catherine Maxwell who specialises in teaching the skills necessary to cook simple, tasty and healthy meals to people on tight budgets.

There will be two FREE sessions for 15 people at a time. The sessions will last 90 mins and run from 10:30am-12noon and then 1pm-2:30pm. And not only will people get to eat the meal they cook, they will also be able to take home a slow cooker worth £20.

"The link between cooking and energy may not be obvious at first," says CSE's Paul Winney. "But actually this kind of engagement works very well. Discussion around cooking on a budget often reveals the severe financial squeeze that many households experience, and in many cases we can help them cut their energy bills without jeopardising their comfort, and in some cases lift them out of fuel poverty.

"And, to anyone who likes the sound of Catherine's cookery sessions, hurry! Places are limited and filling up fast."

To book a place, call 0300 003 4575 or email WarmandSafe@wiltshire.gov.uk and tell us which session you’d like to attend.
